Many of my students who continue to stay with my Artists’ Group classes have become hooked on Art Journals and Altered Books. I love them for keeping art in everyday life. One of my Tuesday students has begun an altered book. Her creativity and use of mediums, textures and natural leaves and flowers is inspiring. Please enjoy Katie’s book.

Just beautiful! I really like the pages with jigsaw pieces. The variety & styles is remarkable & contain an enviable imagination.
Isn’t her art great? She’s a very young woman who is quite serious about her art and an awesome person too.
Katie’s book is delightful (and so is she!). I’m glad I finally took the plunge and started an altered book. It is fun and “freeing”. It is inspiring me to try new things I never would have tried before…after all, it’s just an old book, what have I got to lose? I think it’s great to see each other’s altered books…they are all unique and special in their own way. I can’t wait to show you how to do the 3-dimensional technique, Melissa, and see how you fly with it! I have another 3-dimensional thing I’m going to put in my book. Clue: It reminds me of you! Thanks again for teaching us and making class such a positive, supportive atmosphere. It is one of the highlights of my week and is helping me a lot in ways you will never know.
